Hi i plan to hit bow hunting hard from day one until it gets to cold out there. I would like to know if anyone has called does in early season (early season is mid September, to mid October)? If so what type of calls have you used and how often have you called, etc? More tips the better. I have done some online reading and have not found a whole lot. Thanks

fawn distress calls sometimes work, but they will be on high alert when they come in.

North American hunting club had a video of 2 kids (probably Bill Miller's) sitting on the ground and blowing fawn calls like crazy. And you see these does come running to see why the fawns were bleating so much and if they were in danger. So I would suggest that for does, use a fawn bleat because they think that there is a lost one and want to check them out. One time I had two small does which bedded down under my stand, in the evening each time they would smell me, they would getup and start to leave and I would call them lightly with a doe bleat and they would come back. This lasted for atleast an hour. Early season does will not come to buck grunts, actually they would run away if not in heat.
