So Im kind of new to the site but wanted to give a little inside of Vermonts rut. I haven't noticed much action other than a few pictures on my trail camera, although the last pictures of anything were on Oct 28. I've seen some scrapes and even made a mock scrape but didnt catch anything. We've had some warm/rainy weather. I believe this might have messed with the rut. Also I heard that our rut actually started the begining of Nov because of the moon change or something. So I was told opening day and today were going to be the only time with the best action. Im not sure as of yet I haven't hunted in a couple of years nor have I ever baged a buck, heck I've never seen a buck in the field/woods. During my scouting I've seen a lot of doe. I dont use calls or rattle, although I probably should. I tried a power scrape on the mock that I made and seen a print inside of it which tells me that the bucks are there, but it's getting there timing down. I guess we'll see what the week has in store.
